Dr. Jaccoma specializes in laser and Oculoplastic surgery, dry eye, and aesthetic eye care and is highly skilled in vision restoration. Dr. Jaccoma is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1983) and is Board Certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New England Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Jaccoma is past president of the Medical Staff of the H. D. Goodall Hospital, past president of the Maine Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and is on the active medical staff at both the Southern Maine Hospital Centers of the Biddeford and Sanford campuses. He is also on the teaching staff of the University of New England College of Medicine. He pioneered the use of radio frequency as a customizable heated expression for obstructive MGD and published a study comparing it to Lipiflow.  He offers this, often coupled with Dr. Toyos’ IPL dry eye therapy to treat dry eye disease and as a part of an RF procedure he’s published a study that corrects conjunctivochalasis.  Dr. Jaccoma is also a practicing cosmetic Oculoplastic surgeon offering lid and brow lifts, blepharoplasty surgery, and he performs restorative treatments such as photofacial IPL, Pelleve® skin tightening procedures, facial contouring, and wrinkle reduction with Botox Cosmetic® and using fillers such as Radiesse®, Sculptra®, and Juvederm®.

Utilizing his decades of experience in the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Jaccoma co-founded eyeThera, a company producing a shield he helped design for heated expression of MGD and aids in lid hygiene treatments. He blogs about dry eye care on the eyeThera.com website and serves as the resident expert in all of eyeThera’s medical-related research. As CMO for eyeThera, he offers direction for eyeThera’s development efforts in innovation and new product development.

Laura M. Periman, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon, and Ocular Surface Disease Expert. She knew she wanted to be a doctor since the age of 12 and has always seen eyes as the key defining feature of every person. Her interest in molecular biology began with winning the Terry Spies Memorial Scholarship at the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center as an undergraduate at Willamette University in Salem, OR.
 
Her interest in immunopathophysiology took root during her work in Research and Development at Immunex Corporation in the Molecular Biology Department prior to attending medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. During medical school, she received the Rex and Arlene Garrison Oncology Fellowship, the Western Medical Student Research Committee Award for Excellence and was elected to the honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Upon graduation with honors, she also received the Georgianna Kirby Award for outstanding patient dedication and compassion. Dr. Periman completed her Ophthalmology Residency as well as a Cornea/ Refractive Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. She has 17 peer-reviewed publications and has written extensively on the topic of Ocular Surface Disease. Her unique and passionate perspective on OSD stems from her work in immunopathophysiology. She is an innovator and enthusiastic international speaker who loves bridging the gap between basic science, clinical practice, and patient compassion. Whether delivering top-line care in the sacred 1:1 patient encounter or expanding awareness of the worldwide impacts of Dry Eye Disease, Dr. Periman thrives on contributing to the greater good.
 
As Founder and Director of Dry Eye Services and Clinical Research at Periman Eye Institute in Seattle, WA she combines her clinical care passion, scientific drive, and innovative creativity to provide first-class Ocular Surface Disease management.

After 15 years in the world of academia, Dr. Tracy Doll has transitioned to Sunset Eye Clinic, in Beaverton Oregon where she is the "Director of Ocular Surface Care Services." 
Dr. Doll graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2006 and completed a residency with the Portland VA Medical Center in primary care in 2007. She then started a teaching career with Pacific University College of Optometry, instructing in didactic courses and clinical services for 1st through 4th-year students, in the realms of ocular disease, procedures, and even optometric Spanish.  She pioneered one of the first ocular surface dryness centers inside a university, supervising 4th-year optometry students and residents, as well as performing direct care for those with ocular surface dryness.    

Dr. Doll has a passion for lecturing, writing, and researching on the topic of improving ocular surface dryness and safe beauty for the eye. She is thrilled to be taking part as a contributor to the upcoming TFOS (Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society) Workshop, "A Lifestyle Epidemic: Ocular Surface Dryness," where she will be part of the subcommittee on "Cosmetics."

Dr. Doll is delighted to serve on the American Academy of Optometry Anterior Segment Section leadership team and is a proud member of the Intrepid Eye Society and TFOS.  She is also the Co-Medical Editor for Dry Eye Coach, offering online resources for doctors and the public alike. 

In her free time, Dr. Doll enjoys exploring the Portland food and wine scene with her husband. She is also the dance mom of two hard-working daughters who love math.
